Art For Community Transformation (ACT)

TheArt for Community Transformation (A4CT) Project was a one-year initiative implemented by Hashtag Gulu Initiative, with financial support from Association Omoana, to facilitate the social reintegration of street-connected children and youth (SCCYs) and juveniles in detention. Launched in November 2023, the project used art as a tool for self-expression, rehabilitation, and community transformation, equipping participants with skills in theatre, music, dance, and visual arts to foster positive behavior change and reintegration into society. The project complemented Hashtag Gulu Initiative’s broader rehabilitation efforts, working alongside programs like Dongo Anyim, which focuses on agricultural skills training, and Atek Ki Lwak, which improves SCCY access to psychosocial health services.
