Hashtag Gulu Initiative is a nonprofit organisation based in Northern Uganda, dedicated to the rehabilitation and reintegration of street-connected children and youth through holistic, community-led programming.
Our work includes agriculture, health, psychosocial support, advocacy, life skills training, reintegration and community transformation.

Current Opportunities
Hashtag Gulu is currently seeking dynamic individuals to support agricultural programming and data-driven project performance tracking.
Agricultural Project Officer
The Agricultural Project Officer will lead agriculture-related activities, including enterprise planning, training, mentorship and integration of climate-smart farming practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor skills training in crop and animal production.
- Provide technical guidance to farm staff and youth trainees.
- Coordinate seasonal production cycles and demonstration plots.
- Support farm sustainability and social enterprise development.
- Engage stakeholders, including extension workers and local leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness or related field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on agricultural programming experience.
- Experience working with youth or vulnerable communities.
- Fluent in Luo and able to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Assistant
The MEL Assistant will support monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring timely data collection, entry and reporting to track project progress and support learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, verify and enter project data using digital and paper-based tools.
- Maintain clean and accurate MEL databases.
- Assist in generating reports, dashboards and visual summaries.
- Document success stories and lessons learned.
- Participate in reflection meetings and community feedback loops.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or related field.
- At least 2 years of MEL experience, preferably in NGO settings.
- Proficiency in Excel, KoboToolbox, Google Forms or other digital tools.
- Fluent in Luo and able to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
