Transition Talks
Hashtag Gulu Initiative, in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Uganda and South Sudan (KAS), implemented the Transition Talks project under the theme “Uganda Through the Eyes of Its Young People” to explore how the country’s youthful population is reshaping identity, governance, democracy, and the future of Vision 2040 amid urbanisation and economic strain. The Gulu convenings engaged 142 participants—including student leaders from Gulu University, USHG, EAIMS, GCHS, youth from nine Acholi districts, and local leaders—in bold discussions on demography, identity, and youth-led governance. Outcomes included calls for education and job policy reforms, strategies for digital youth mobilisation, and actions to protect culture while boosting economic opportunities. The dialogue reaffirmed Hashtag Gulu’s mission to elevate young voices and influence systems, with plans to scale future engagement through live streams and media partnerships across Northern Uganda.
